About Sisyan LLC
Sisyan was founded in 1999 to develop solar applications, and has focused on solar water heating since 2007. Before then, Sisyan designed and built photovoltaic seawater reverse osmosis (PVSWRO) systems for real estate development. In the last ten years, its installations have produced nearly 13 million gallons of fresh water using 100% solar power.
Yan Kunczynski, PE, ME is the founder and creative force of Sisyan, with 47 years of experience inventing, designing and building innovative products. Yan is best known for his contributions to aerial tramways and automatic people movers (see http://www.ipexl.com/directory/en/inventor/Kunczynski_Jan_K_1.html for a complete list of patents.) He recently filed for two additional patents on solar hot water collection and storage.
Zyg Kunczynski joined Sisyan in Spring 2009 as VP of Business Development to help refine and commercialize Yan’s inventions. Prior to Sisyan, Zyg spent 14 years doing product development in the transportation and medical device industries, in engineering as well as marketing roles. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford and an MBA from Harvard.
Ken Pearson, PE, CE joined Sisyan in Spring 2009 as VP of Operations to oversee procurement and manufacturing. Ken began working with Yan in 1975 and spent 24 years as a civil engineer and/or plant manager. Since then, Ken has been successfully running his own engineering and services business.
Alan Thompson joined Sisyan in Spring 2010 to support product sales and distribution. Alan has 15 years of residential and commercial construction experience, and has held California State C10 Electrical and C36 Plumbing contracting licenses. He managed distributor channel marketing and training services for Chaparral Communications and Fortuna Communications for eight years. For the last five years, Alan has owned and managed an alternative-energy technology installation firm, Todos Santos Technologies.
